Globalization and its effects

Describe how economic, technological, cultural, or political globalization is affecting and has affected your present student’s lifestyle most. You must give examples from your daily experience to elaborate your points.
In my opinion,
technological globalization has been of great help in this pandemic, since it
has helped us to continue studying despite the adversity that exists out there,
besides the fact that the media are the main tools to know what is happening in
the world and its repercussions, since in most cases, what happens in one
country can affect several others, such as economic, social and health.
Regarding the
economic aspect, it has boosted tourism, jobs, knowledge of new products,
services, which of course I have consumed, some of them are cheaper than the
local ones, but others much more expensive, which has had an impact on the way
society sees these brands, sometimes they are maximized and it is believed that
by buying or using products from these multinationals you are superior to the
rest.
In Mexico,
multinational companies have great weight in the economy, as they are the first
impulse for trade and jobs. So in my daily life I can see how more and more
foreign companies are establishing themselves in my country.
In the cultural
aspect, I have been filled by the mass media, especially Korean, Japanese and
some European culture. In fact my favorite hobbies are related to those
countries.
Finally, in the
political aspect, I have noticed several events such as the friction between
the U.S. and China, which not only has repercussions in those two countries,
but also leaves the whole world in expectation.
As when the new
president of the United States came to power, we all depend on what happens in
that nation.

ReplyDeleteI find everything that globalization has affected your student life very interesting, the important thing is to rescue the positive things and learn from the negative. I also agree with several of the points you mentioned, it is something that affects us all.

Nice job Jaqueline! I can totally relate with your ideas but I think that right now there is a huge problem with technological/informational globalization. You see, there´s a lot of information related to the actual pandemic but have you seen that there is a lot of misinformation also? I can say that people nowadays do not know how to discriminate information and this is becoming a bigger issue everyday. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteI think that with technological globalization new problems have also developed, as you mentioned, since it makes us dependent on electronic devices, and therefore sometimes the use of information can be harmful because it is not used in the most appropriate way possible.
